We had lovely conversation and barbecue with Thor's sister Maren and family. They've got Emy talked into moving to DC - preferably to one of those adorable Dupont neighborhood homes. Thanks for the food, fun and travel service to the best burgers ever on Sunday!
We spent the night in the loveliest accommodations of the gracious and beautiful Mrs. Ellwein. The kids decided she's a blond Aunt Sara. Mrs. Ellwein got up so early with us with her typical burst of positive energy and nutritious breakfast, and drove us to the airport for the kids' first plane trip.
Everything went smoothly through check-in and there were no waits at the take-your-shoes-and-belts-off line. The kids each got a window seat on the plane and here's how they felt in anticipation of take-off:
We can't wait to see the sights, eat the food, be on our own non-schedule. We're starting out on April Fool's Day, spending the night with Mrs. Ellwein (how appropriate), who is graciously getting up at o'darkhundred to drive us to the airport!
